Drop Off/Breakfast Procedures

Parents may drop students off on West LeFevre to enter the main door or park on neighboring streets so that students can cross at one of our crosswalks. Students may also enter through the third-grade doors, which are located near the alley. Families should not park in the alley nor enter the alley from Avenue G. This is where our busses drop-off. Some families prefer parking along West 15th Street and having their students walk down Avenue H, where they will meet a bus monitor/crossing guard.

Drop-off will be from 7:40 to 8:00 a.m. Since there will not be supervision before 7:40 a.m., please do not drop your child off before this time.

Bus students will enter through the third-grade doors (South East Corner) beginning at 7:40 am or upon arrival to school.

School begins at 8:05 a.m. each day.

Breakfast/Morning Procedure

  • Students will enter the building beginning at 7:40 am. Students will sit by their lockers until their teacher opens the classroom door at 7:55 am and begin class at 8:05 am.

  • Breakfast will not be served in the classroom this year. Students will eat in the cafeteria.

  • Breakfast will be served from 7:40 am to 7:55 am.

  • Students who want breakfast should head straight to the cafeteria to eat before entering the classroom at 7:55 am.

Procedures for Exiting the Building

Bus riders will enter and exit through the third- and fifth-grade doors.

If your student's dismissal plan changes, please notify the office, and the office will notify the classroom teacher and student.

Car riders or walkers may leave through any door.

School Nurse

Before starting school, please be sure your students’ medications and health records are current. Student medications can be brought to the office before the start of school on August 4-8 (8:00-3:00) or during the Back to School Open House (August 12 from 6:00 PM—7:00 PM). We hope having the necessary medications before the start of school will ease all transitions. Likewise, contact our nurse, Abril, with any health concerns before the start of the year.

Snacks/Water Bottles/Birthday Treats

Your child will have a snack each day. However, your child’s homeroom teacher will discuss what that looks like in that particular classroom (class snack, individual, etc.).

Please be sure your child brings a water bottle labeled with his/her name.

Birthday treats can be sent in, but they must be individually packaged or easily served safely (e.g., an ice cream sandwich, granola bar, rice Krispie treat, etc.).

iPad Deployment

Within the first week of school, each student will be issued an iPad for school use. Initially, these devices will remain at school. It is recommended that families pay the insurance fee on Skyward to cover any damage to the iPad. iPads, Charging Blocks, cords, and cases will all be returned to the school at the end of the year.

Skyward Updates

Please be sure Skyward information for your student is correct—this includes updating phone numbers, addresses, emergency contacts, etc. If you need assistance with this, please email or call the office.
